Future Forward Facing

I don’t want another relationship I have to heal from.

Exorcising my Haunted Heart

In fighting to let go, I found solace in the belief that the Universe is looking out for me; that everything that has happened and will happen is for my well-being, my good, my happiness. Everything is as it should be. More so, everything is for my greater good. If something was bad, the Universe provides something good. If something was good, the Universe provides something better. I can finally release my expectations and their accompanying disappointments, and drive out the specters from my tormented heart.

Current state: Acceptance, peace, and gratitude.

Sometimes the person you want most is the person you’re best without

Hey you, Stop breaking your own heart by trying to make a relationship work that clearly isn’t meant to work. You can’t force someone to care about you. You can’t force someone to be loyal. You can’t force someone to be the person you need them to be.

I’ll be real with you, sometimes the person you want most is the person you’re best without. You got to understand some things are meant to happen, but just not meant to be. Some things are meant to come in your life, just not meant to stay. (Reason & Season)

Don’t lose yourself by trying to fix what’s meant to stay broken. You can’t get the relationship you need from someone who’s not ready to give it you. And I know it’s hard when your heart has labeled that person as someone you could spend forever with, but you just have to accept that they’re not that person anymore. And you might not understand WHY NOW, but I promise you your future will always bring understanding of why things didn’t work out. TRUST ME. Don’t put your happiness on hold for someone who isn’t holding on to you.

Some chapters just have to close without closure. Straight up. That broken thing you keep trying to put back together is keeping your life from that beautiful thing that’s waiting to be built. God loves you too much to answer a prayer that’s going to leave you hurt. You deserve better.

I’m most homesick for that place we met when we needed each other most, supported each other, yearned for and loved each other

and then something shifted in him and he moved, in a most conspicuous way, far away from me seemingly without a care, leaving me craving something he refuses to give in to while he struggles to remember things I will never forget…

Random musings

Love shouldn’t have to be provoked, should it? Or coaxed?

“Who do I have to be to get some reciprocity?”

Sometimes we’re so busy wanting something that we don’t take the time to consider if it’s something worth wanting.

Funny how things I don’t pursue elude me still.

What if everything I believe is wrong?

If I had no fear

“What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”

  • Quit my job to do what I love.
  • Love boldly.
  • Travel alone.
  • Actively pursue my happiness.
  • Express my feelings openly without fear of judgment or rejection.
  • Allow myself to be open, unguarded, and receptive.
  • Create and uphold standards that validate my worth.
  • Dream BIG!
